Established in 2018, the Telefilm Canada Emerging Critic Award was created to find and promote new voices in the field of film criticism.

The winner for the 26th annual TFCA Awards is Winnie Wang, who has been published in outlets including Cinema Scope, Little White Lies, and Documentary. The award carries a cash prize of $1000, courtesy of Telefilm Canada.
