Quebec director Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner 2049, Sicario), a member of the Palme d’Or jury at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, met with member Chris Knight (The National Post), Past President Brian D. Johnson (Maclean’s), and TFCA President Peter Howell (Toronto Star) at the Riviera cinema gathering to talk about his no-spoilers strategy for assessing 21 Palme contenders (“I really want to be totally like a virgin”), his thoughts on big-screen movie watching and his early work on his Dune sci-fi blockbuster due in 2020.
