Steve Norton

Steve Norton is a Toronto based writer who believes in the power of storytelling. After co-founding ScreenFish in 2015, Steve finally found an outlet to put his passion for film into practice. Committed to engaging not only the stories but the storytellers, he can regularly be seen writing reviews, interviewing filmmakers about their latest projects for ScreenFish’s YouTube channel or running from screen to screen at major film festivals such as TIFF and Hot Docs.
What’s more, having worked as a youth and community pastor for almost two decades, he recognizes the importance of giving people a voice — and film is one of the best ways that people are able to share what matters most to them. As a result of his work at ScreenFish, he’s been excited to help develop an arts program for new Canadian children, partner with major studios to help get at-risk youth into cinemas and organize in-person screenings designed to engage deeper conversations between film and culture.
He’s also a proud husband, father of two and believes that Citizen Kane, Batman Forever (yes, the Kilmer one), and The Social Network all belong in the same conversation.
